OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

At the Australian Psychology and Speech Clinic, we are proud to offer a comprehensive range of occupational therapy services tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals across the lifespan, including pediatric, geriatric, individuals with disabilities, rehabilitation needs, and those seeking home modifications. Our team of skilled and compassionate occupational therapists are committed to helping you or your loved ones achieve the highest level of independence and quality of life possible.

Our Services:

We provide a wide range of occupational therapy services to address various challenges and improve overall well-being. Our services include:

Pediatric Occupational Therapy: We specialise in supporting children with developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and other pediatric conditions. Our goal is to help children achieve their developmental milestones and improve their participation in daily activities.

Geriatric Occupational Therapy: For our elderly clients, we offer interventions to enhance their independence and quality of life. We address issues such as fall prevention, dementia care, and adaptations for aging in place.

Assistive Technology: Our team works with individuals living with disabilities to maximise their functional abilities and improve their daily life. We provide adaptive strategies, equipment recommendations, and mobility solutions tailored to individual needs.

Home Modifications: We offer expertise in assessing and recommending home modifications to create safe and accessible living environments. These modifications can be essential for individuals with mobility challenges or disabilities.

ASSESSMENTS

 Domains of Assessments:

Our experienced occupational therapists utilise a variety of assessments to understand your unique needs and develop personalised intervention plans. The domains of assessments we offer include:

  1. Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessment: We assess an individual's ability to perform essential daily tasks such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and meal preparation.
  2. Sensory Processing Assessment: For children and adults with sensory challenges, we conduct assessments to identify sensory preferences and sensitivities, helping tailor therapy accordingly.
  3. Cognitive Function Assessment: We evaluate cognitive abilities, including memory, attention, and problem-solving skills, to create strategies for improved independence.
  4. Functional Mobility Assessment: Our assessments focus on an individual's ability to move safely and efficiently, whether at home or in the community.
  5. Environmental Assessment: For home modifications, we assess the physical environment to identify barriers and recommend modifications to improve accessibility.
  6. Assistive Technology Assessment: We evaluate the need for and recommend assistive devices and adaptive technology to enhance independence.
