In psychology, we offer a range of assessments to diagnose and treat mental health issues, such as Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Trauma, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and more. These assessments include diagnostic interviews, cognitive and intellectual assessments, personality assessments, and assessments for specific mental health conditions. We also offer vocational testing packages for career development.

For speech therapy, we offer assessments to identify speech and language disorders, such as Articulation Disorders, Swallowing, Stuttering, and Language Delay or Disorder. These assessments include standardised tests, informal observations, and assessments of communication in everyday situations.

In behaviour therapy, we offer assessments to identify challenging behaviours, such as aggression, self-injury, and non-compliance. These assessments include functional behavioural assessments, which identify the reasons why a person engages in challenging behaviours, and allow us to develop appropriate and effective interventions to address them.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

At Australian Psychology and Speech Clinic, we prioritise a comprehensive assessment process to ensure accurate evaluations for our clients. Our dedicated administrative team verifies each referral to maintain the integrity of our services. The assessment process takes 6 to 8 weeks.

Before scheduling an appointment, we kindly request that clients complete an intake form, providing us with essential information that helps us tailor the assessment to their specific needs. The testing stage will vary depending on the test battery utilised to address the referral question. For children, it is crucial to gather data from both home and school environments to obtain a holistic understanding of their experiences. Please note that the finalisation of the report is contingent upon receiving all necessary information.

Our expert clinicians meticulously collate the results, ensuring a thorough analysis, and prepare the report. This report serves as a valuable resource for medical practitioners, as it provides insights and findings that can aid in their diagnostic and treatment processes. For comprehensive endorsement, the report should be reviewed by medical practitioners to integrate psychological insights with their medical findings.

Once the report is finalised, we will send it to you promptly. You will then be invited to attend a final consultation, serving as a debrief session where you have the opportunity to ask questions, gain a clear understanding of the results and recommendations, and discuss any concerns you may have.
