Crisis Support Numbers

If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis, please note that our service does not provide crisis support. However, there are several crisis support services available in Australia that you can contact for immediate assistance.

National crisis support services:

  • Lifeline on 13 11 14: A national crisis support and suicide prevention service that provides 24/7 support to individuals in distress.
  • Beyond Blue on 1300 22 46 36: An Australian mental health and wellbeing support organization that offers a range of services, including 24/7 phone counseling.
  • Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467: A nationwide service that provides free professional phone and online counseling to individuals who are feeling suicidal or have been affected by suicide.
  • 1800 737 732: A 24-hour national sexual assault, family and domestic violence counselling line for any Australian who has experienced, or is at risk of, family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
  • 13YARN (13 92 76): A confidential and culturally sensitive helpline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who need emotional support.


State-specific crisis support services:

  • Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511 (NSW): A 24/7 statewide phone service which links people with NSW Health mental health services. It is a free service.
  • Psychiatric Triage (local): A 24/7 phone service that provides emergency mental health assessments and referrals to appropriate services. Contact your local mental health service for details.
  • Emergency Department (local hospital): If you require immediate medical attention or are experiencing a mental health crisis, you can attend your local hospital emergency department.


Other crisis support services:

  • Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800: A free, private, and confidential 24/7 phone and online counseling service for young people aged 5 to 25 years.
  • MensLine Australia on 1300 78 99 78: A national telephone and online counseling service for men with emotional health and relationship concerns.
  • GriefLine on 1300 845 745: A national helpline that provides counseling and support for individuals experiencing grief, loss, or trauma.
  • Gambling Help on 1800 858 858: A national 24/7 helpline for anyone affected by gambling, including individuals, family members, and friends.
  • Alcohol and Drug Information Service (ADIS) on 1800 250 015: A 24/7 confidential helpline for individuals and their families seeking information, advice, and support regarding alcohol and drug use.

We understand that waitlists for our services can be lengthy at times, and we recognize that this can be frustrating for our clients. While we strive to provide timely services to all of our clients, there may be occasions where our waitlist is longer than we would like.


In these instances, we will provide our clients with a list of trusted and competent services that may be able to provide the care they need in a more timely manner. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality of care possible, even if that means referring them to another service.


Rest assured that we are continually working to reduce wait times and provide timely services to all of our clients. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards these goals.

We understand that the information you share with us is sensitive and personal, and we are committed to ensuring that it is kept safe and secure at all times. Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is designed to ensure fairness and optimise scheduling for all our valued clients. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly request that you provide us with a minimum of 48 hours' notice. This allows us to accommodate other clients in need of services and maintain a smooth and efficient appointment system. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we are here to work with you to find the best solution. Please reach out to our administrative team as soon as possible to discuss any changes to your appointment.


For transparency, we kindly ask clients to review our cancellation policy, which outlines potential charges. While we understand that situations may arise that necessitate changes to your scheduled appointment, it is important to note that cancellation fees may be applied if sufficient notice is not provided. We strive to maintain a fair and efficient scheduling system for the benefit of all our clients, and we greatly appreciate your cooperation in adhering to our cancellation policy. Medicare

What is Medicare?

Medicare is Australia's public health insurance system, which provides access to a range of medical services, including psychological and speech therapy treatment. 


Who is eligible for Medicare-funded psychological treatment?

To be eligible for Medicare-funded psychology treatment, you must have a referral from your general practitioner (GP) or a specialist for a Mental Health Care Plan.  


To be eligible for Medicare-funded speech pathology treatment, you must have a referral from your general practitioner (GP) or a specialist. You must also have a diagnosed condition that is eligible for treatment under Medicare. Eligible conditions include developmental delay, communication difficulties, stuttering, voice disorders, swallowing difficulties, and neurological conditions that affect speech and language.


How many sessions can I get with Medicare?

Under Medicare, you can receive up to 10 individual psychology sessions in a calendar year if your treating doctor believes it is necessary. In certain circumstances, you may be able to access additional sessions with a GP or specialist referral. 


Under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), you can receive up to five individual sessions with a speech pathologist in a calendar year. However, in certain circumstances, you may be able to access additional sessions with a GP or specialist referral.
